A Royal Bengal tigress was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Chhatbir Zoological Park on Sunday evening. Zoo sources said fighting with another inmate in the enclosure cost Shanti her life.

The role of the management has come under the scanner as it had reportedly deployed a few beldaars (daily-wagers) on duty at the tiger enclosure in place of regular zoo keepers.
