Bad medicine

Pharmacists and government officials in Nepal have expressed their concern about spurious and poor quality medicines that are doing the rounds in the country. According to officials of the Pharmaceutical Marketing Executive Association of Nepal (PEAN), the situation is particularly worse in the Terai region. "In some areas of Terai, spurious medicines are even used in the laboratories, while in others expired medicines are relabelled and sold openly in the markets,' said Rajesh Man Pradhan, president of PEAN.
