SHILLONG: Meghalaya continues to have a poor record when it comes to implementation of Central schemes.

Besides several other projects including Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), one of the most progressive social welfare schemes called National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) has yet to take off in the State as desired by the Government of India.
