BHUBANESWAR: The State has been able to bring down the infant mortality rate (IMR) by 20 points as against 15 points at the national level.

A review on the performance of the IMR Mission by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today revealed that IMR rate, which was 93 per 1,000 live births in 2001, has come down to 71 per 1,000 live births by 2007.
