Delhi cuts VAT on diesel,more states to follow
THE Delhi government on Friday decided to roll back an increase in sales tax on diesel it had announced in the state budget, a move that could force other states to cut local levies on the auto fuel. Diesel in Delhi will be cheaper by Rs 2.70 a litre from Tuesday after the state government reduced value-added tax (VAT) from 20% to 12.5%.
