Shimla: With reduction in the height of the Renuka Dam not possible, the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation has come up with an alternative proposal to bring down the number of trees to be axed to pave the way for the construction of Rs 3,600 crore project.

The corporation has decided not to fell trees standing on the land to be submerged for a short period during the year.
