As many as 7 lakh meters of electricity consumers in the state are out of order. This is causing huge monetary losses to Haryana Power Utility as the absence of exact meter readings increases the misuse of power by consumers.

Sources in the power utility say, out of the 46 lakh electricity consumers in the state, as many as 7 lakh have meters which have been out of order for months together.
