Close all waste plants in residential areas
Hazardous Emissions From Mixed Solid Waste Prompts Panel To Seek Countrywide Ban
The parliamentary standing committee on urban development has recommended waste incinerator plants be shut in residential areas across the country. In its 27th report, the committee severely criticized the location and use of “mixed solid waste” for such plants. This may come as a morale-booster for several residents in Sukhdev Vihar, New Friends Colony, Maharani Bagh and other areas loacted near the Okhla waste-to-energy plant who have been complaining of pollution.
