Judgement of the National Green Tribunal regarding noise pollution caused by a club, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, 26/05/2017
Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajeev Rai Vs Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Others dated 26/05/2017 regarding noise pollution caused by Punjabi Club, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Applicant has also prayed for issuance of of appropriate directions for closure of the said Punjabi Club and similar nature clubs, situated within 100 mts. radius of any hospital in order to enforce the ‘silence zone’ as stipulated in the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 and the comprehensive guidelines framed by the UPPCB.
NGT directs the club to strictly conform to the prescribed noise levels and that there should be no occasion for them to be a nuisance to the public residing nearby and that there should be a complete ban on the use of loudspeakers to curtail the noise pollution.
