Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Dasarathi Sethi & Others Vs State of Odisha & Others dated 19/01/2024.

The matter related to Kamanda Steel Plant, Sambalpur operating its steel plant in violation of environmental norms. And the plant does not possess pollution control devices.

The court directed a two member committee to look into the matter. The Committee shall inspect the site in question and submit its report within four weeks on affidavit with regard to the allegations made said the NGT and listed the next hearing of the case to March 11, 2024.
