Amreli: A lion was found dead in a village in Khamba taluka of Amreli district on Thursday morning. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained, the forest department said.According to sources, the carcass was found in the morning from the field of Babu Vekariya, which is located in Tulsishyam range of Gir (north).

Dhari (Amreli): A decomposed carcass of a male leopard was recovered from a river bed near Kotada village of Khambha taluka of Amreli district on Thursday evening.

AHMEDABAD: Water is supplied once in five days in Ramvav village of Rapar, Kutch. But, one has to walk long distances to reach the community tap. And, this water only meets drinking water needs of one family. For other purposes, one has to purchase water from tankers. Often, cattle are left to die without water.

Fortyeight-year-old diamond cutter Ravajibhai Rathod living in Sanaliya village of Liliya taluka is unemployed for the last three years. He was a skilful worker, but now due to fluorosis he can neither bend his knees nor walk without a stick.

The Asiatic lions moving out of the Gir sanctuary have made Mitiyala, Bhavnagar and Amreli as their permanent home.
