Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Arjun Gopal & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 31/10/2018 regarding the issue of burning of firecrackers during Diwali and other festivals/occasions.

Supreme Court directs that:

The Supreme Court ruled out imposing a complete ban on the sale of firecrackers during Diwali but put certain conditions in place for the sale and use of firecrackers.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Arjun Gopal & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 14/08/2018 regarding pollution problems which occurs due to firecrackers during Diwali. Supreme Court asks the Union of India/Ministry of Environment to come out with concrete suggestions to deal with these problems.

The Supreme Court has brought back the November 2016 ban on sale of firecrackers in the Delhi-NCR region. This order effectively means that no firecrackers will be available for purchase before Diwali, which is on Oct 19, 2017
