Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Friends through its General Secretary Vs Ministry of Water Resources dated 29/06/2021.

The matter dealt with the permissibility of use of reverse osmosis (RO) system where total dissolved solids (TDS) level is below a particular threshold and where RO system destroys minerals rendering use of RO treated water harmful for human health. Further question dealt with was the undue wastage of water rejected in the process.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Friends Vs. Government of Uttarakhand dated 05/09/2017 regarding illegal hot-mix plants in the State of Uttarakhand. NGT directs the State Government of Uttarakhand to provide all assistance to the State Pollution Control Board for closure of illegal hot-mix plants especially the 35 hot-mix plants to whom orders have already been passed and a compliance report be submitted before the Tribunal.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Friends Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forest & CC & Others dated 31/05/2016 regarding felling of trees for widening of NH-87 from Rampur to Kathgodam, Uttarakhand. NGT disposes of this Application with the directions that there will be no felling of trees for widening of NH-87 from Rampur to Kathgodam unless the concerned authorities have obtained Forest Clearance for felling of trees and have provided compensatory afforestation.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Friends Vs. Government of Uttarakhand dated 27/05/2016 regarding cutting and felling of trees from forest land for the purpose of melting the coal tar for laying metalled road in the State of Uttarakhand. Counsel appearing for the State of Uttarakhand is unable to dispute to the fact that the trees are being felled and burnt for the purposes of melting the coal tar for laying metelled road
