Counsel appearing for the UP Pollution Control Board submits that there has been improvement in overall CEPI score from 80 to 78 and as regards the air pollution index is concerned, the marker index has gone down from 73 to 50 between 2011 and 2013.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Sanjay Agnihotri V/s Union of India & Ors. dated 18/02/2014 regarding abatement of pollution in NOIDA area. The order also states that UPPCB has filed an inspection report wherein it is stated that one of the polluting industry (electroplating plant) has been dismantled and entire waste material removed.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sanjay Agnihotri V/s. Union of India & Ors.dated 04/02/2014 regarding abatement of pollution in NOIDA area, Uttar Pradesh. NGT has directed the CPCB to make a thorough study of the action plan submitted by the UP Government and give its opinion in respect of each of the items of the action plan by the next date of hearing. Also it has asked the Pollution Control Board to submit that in so far as it relates to the carrying capacity of NOIDA in respect of various units functioning there.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sanjay Agnihotri Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 22/01/2014 regarding abatement of pollution in NOIDA area.The NGT order also says that the CPCB has filed an inspection
report with regard to M/s Nano Electrotech Pvt. Ltd. which is involved in the manufacturing of printed circuit board. Earlier in the analysis report of the CPCB, they found the parameter relating to copper beyond the permissible limit.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sanjay Agnihotri Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 13/01/2014 regarding pollution caused by an electroplating industry in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. In this case NGT has concluded that it is an apt case where the polluter pay principles shall be applied. Therefore, the Tribunal had imposed a cost of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rs. One Lakh) on the said unit and directed that the cost be paid to the Legal Aid Fund of NGT Bar Association within a period of two (2) weeks.
