BHUBANESWAR: With more and more industries setting up shop in the State and environmental pollution monitoring becoming a tough task, the State Government is looking to introduce a self-regulation system soon.

The proposed system will put the onus on industries to adhere to the norms.

The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) has initiated strict action against half a dozen dyeing industrial units in Ludhiana, which are violating pollution control norms by burning municipal solid waste (MSW) and other unauthorised fuels.
