THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the scorching summer heat triggering a soaring demand for drinking water, much more than what the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) can purify and supply, a high-level meeting held here on Thursday charted out an action plan to bring water to the parched high-level areas and other regions of the city hit hard by water scarcity.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around 30 persons were hospitalised after they suffered discomfort following the leakage of chlorine at Vellaykadavu within the Vilappilsala Police Station limits here on Tuesday evening.

According to the police, an unused chlorine cylinder had leaked by around 6.30 p.m.

The step is as part of the decentralisation of waste treatment, which is one of the main focus areas of the final-year programmes envisaged by the present Council.
