Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s. Kazi Leather (Huda Hide Agency) Vs. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board dated 17/08/2016 regarding tanneries shut down for not being environment friendly, Uttar Pradesh.

Counsel appearing on behalf of UPPCB state before NGT that environment compliances have been made and the consent applications moved, and the same are pending decision. Tribunal directs UPPCB to consider their applications for grant of consent to operate and dispose of the same in accordance with law within four weeks.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gujarat Tanners, Jajmau, Kanpur Vs. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board dated 01/02/2016 regarding pollution caused by Gujarat Tanners, Jajmau, Kanpur.

The joint inspection report has clearly shown that the Applicant industry is a polluting industry as its chromium was found to be 9.47 as opposed to the prescribed value of 2.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Khan Leather Finishers Vs. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board dated 14/01/2016 regarding leather industries causing pollution to river Ganga, Jajmau Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Court find no reason to grant the relief prayed for by the Applicants at this stage. The Applicants’ Units were found to be not functioning on the date when the joint inspection team went for inspection. The obvious intent was to withhold information to be provided to the Board and avoid the inspection by the joint inspecting team.
