Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vivek Kamboj & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 21/08/2018. The applicant had approached NGT for direction to relocate the Solid Waste Plant (Bandhwari sewage treatment plant in Haryana's Gurgaon district) set up by M/s. Eco-green Energy at the instance of Municipal Corporation and the landfill site away from the Aravalli forest. National Green Tribunal had directed taking of steps for proper dumping of the waste and maintenance and an inspection conducted. A report was submitted by the Central Pollution Control Board making certain recommendations. NGT finds that there is no "substantial compliance" of the CPCB report and directs M/s Ecogreen Energy Gurgaon Faridabad Pvt. Ltd. to pay interim compensation of Rs. 2.5 lakhs for damage to the environment under Section 15(2) of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010.
