Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding unregulated dumping of municipal solid waste on the flood plain of river Yamuna, Uttar Pradesh, 22/04/2019
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Nagar Palika Parishad, Vrindavan & Others Vs Madhumangal Shukla & Others dated 22/04/2019 regarding unregulated dumping of municipal solid waste on the flood plain area of river Yamuna. The municipal solid waste as well as plastic waste being burnt is causing environmental hazard in the area of Vrindavan city. The case was filed for the compliance of orders passed by the NGT from 2016 to 2017 in the issue.
The SC had asked the Tribunal to examine whether there has been effective compliance of the orders for which an upto date status report should be filed within four weeks. NGT expresses its displeasure at the fact that no status report has been filed even after three months and directs a joint Committee comprising the representatives of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), State Pollution Control Board (State PCB) and Nagar Palika Parishad, Vrindavan to furnish a factual report of status of compliance of the orders of the Tribunal within two months.
