Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding violation of environment norms by an industry, Bengaluru, Karnataka, 14/03/2019
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of B. Raghupathy Vs Union of India & Others dated 14/03/2019. The issue raised for consideration is the violation of the environment norms by K.S. Satish and M/s New Ark Project.
The NGT says that before considering the issue with regard to violation of provisions of Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, EIA clearance notification requirement and buffer zone, it is necessary to obtain an expert report on the subject from a Committee comprising representatives of Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA), Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and KSPCB. The KSPCB will be the nodal agency for coordination and compliance. Report would be furnished to the Tribunal within two months.
