756 flood hotspots in city, reveals laser mapping Flood control work to begin in Cauvery
THE Institute of Remote Sensing, Anna University on Thursday identified 756 vulnerable pockets in the city in areas like GN Chetty Road, Virugambakkam, MKB Nagar, East-Velachery and Porur as areas with high risk of flooding, after it had conducted a flood-risk mapping of Chennai and its suburbs using ultra modern technology called Airborne Laser Terrain Mapping.
