AHMEDABAD: Fruit Bats and insectivorous bats are the common species in the city. The former need tall trees and shade to roost and the latter live in old forts, caves, and dark places where they can feast on insects. While the Fruit Bat helps in seed dispersal, insectivorous bats control pests.
