CNG Vehicles withdrawn

A large number of public transport vehicles using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) kits have been withdrawn by their owners in Karachi, Pakistan, following an increase in the gas prices. According to reports, owners are reportedly converting their vehicles to diesel to protect themselves against the unbearable hike in gas prices. Similarly, taxis and private vehicle-owners are facing problems in refilling and they have shifted the burden on commuters. A large number of gas retail shops have closed down. This shortage of gas is due to low domestic production and decreasing imports.
