Struggle to keep 25000 MW of gas-based power capacity alive

The Finance Ministry has rejected the Power Ministry’s proposal for a nearly Rs.25,000-crore subsidy cushion and instead asked it to work on gas price pooling and pass on the tariff to distribution companies (discoms) or consumers.
