Food inflation eases to 8.53 per cent
After a consistent rise in the past two weeks, food inflation dipped to 8.53 per cent for the week ending April 23 compared with 8.76 per cent in the previous week.
The fall has come on the back of a downward slide of 7.39 per cent in prices of pulses, which have been on the decline since April 2, 2011.
