Minister for Forest and Environment Mian Altaf today asked the forest functionaries to launch mass afforestration drive on the degraded forest and open land areas, as has become this important in the backdrop of increasing demand for the timber for construction purposes.

The Minister was reviewing the functioning of Social Forest Department at a high level meeting here today.
