Sindh Assembly on Thursday strongly opposed construction of 44 MW hydel power plant on Chashma-Jehlum (CJ) Link Canal by passing a unanimous resolution and demanded of the federal and Punjab governments to immediately shelve the project, which is supposed to create acute shortage of water in Sindh. Nepra has proposed the project to overcome the prevailing power crisis in the country.
