THIRUVANATHAPURAM: The State Government on Wednesday decided to seek a financial assistance of Rs 1,300 crore from the Centre for the maintenance of roads in the state.

Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan said after the cabinet meeting that the heavy rains in the state had resulted in the collapse of several roads and hence the State Government had decided to approach the Centre for immediate help.
