BHUBANESWAR: The State has the potential to generate 1,700 MW green power from wind but the Government has failed to tap the natural source. Once a power surplus State, Orissa is facing acute shortage of power due to massive hydro failure. Hydro power is the mainstay of the State and failure of the monsoon upsets the energy availability.
