Chandigarh Haryana will be self sufficient in power generation by the year 2012. During the last six years, the state government has so far added additional power generation capacity of 3,230 mw which is more than double the power generation capacity of 1,587 mw achieved during the last 40 years.

This was stated by the Power minister, Mahender Partap Singh in Sirsa.
