Rs 122 cr for anti-flood steps
The Punjab Government today sanctioned Rs 122 crore to enable the Irrigation Department to complete flood protection measures before the onset of the monsoon in the state.
Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon said the amount would be spent on strengthening the 1,198-km-long embankments, training 3,800 workers and de-silting the 7,233-km-long drainage system.
