JAIPUR: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed preservation and restoration work of Jaipur's Man Sagar Lake by the private firm to which the 17th century monument Jal Mahal has been leased out.

In the last hearing of the matter on May 25, the court had allowed the firm to carry out preservation and restoration work of just the Jal Mahal that stands in the lake. During hearing of the litigation disputing the monument's lease agreements on Friday, a bench comprising Justices Deepak Verma and Gyan Sudha Mishra observed that the lake was part of the monument.
