Noise pollution & road accidents

Responding to a PIL filed by Paragmoni Kakati on the alarming increase in noise pollution and road accidents in Guwahati, the Gauhati High Court on Thursday issued notices to the Transport Department, Assam Police and the Kamrup (metro) district administration and asked them to file affidavits on or before November 5 as to the steps they had taken to curb the menace as mentioned in the PIL.
