The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: achieving the industry-related goals and targets

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) constitute the core of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted by the international community on 25 September 2015, the new development framework that seeks to transform our world and will guide all global, regional and national development endeavours for the next 15 years. These Goals, and their associated targets, frame the 2030 Agenda with the vision and ambition to both achieve a balance among the three dimensions of sustainable development – environmental, social and economic – and integrate them into a universal and visionary framework for global cooperation and action. This integrated approach intrinsically recognizes the interrelated nature of all goals and targets, their trade-offs and synergies. UNIDO’s goal of achieving ISID is explicitly recognized and anchored within the internationally agreed 2030 Agenda.
