Draft National Geospatial Policy, 2021

The Department of Science & Technology has recently issued revised guidelines on 15th February, 2021 to liberalize the field of Geo-spatial Sector in the country for acquiring and producing Geospatial Data, Maps and related Services & Solutions. Even though Geospatial Sector in the country has been completely deregulated, a comprehensive National Geospatial Policy is required to nurture and develop the geospatial ecosystem of the country to encourage spatial thinking, generate geospatial knowledge, strengthen geospatial infrastructure, promote use of Geospatial Data, Products, Solutions and Services and boost geospatial entrepreneurship for socio-economic development of the nation. In the above context, a draft National Geospatial Policy, 2021 has been prepared by the Department of Science & Technology.
