KATHUA: The PHE Department’s failure to release the payment of private water tankers amounting to Rs 1 crore in Kathua district who in turn have stopped the supply of pottable water on credit basis coupled with breaking down of over 25 pumping stations, the Kandi belt of the district is facing acute scarcity of water at present.

JAMMU: Rs 600 crore ambitious water supply scheme for Jammu is on anvil and the Summary Appraisal Report (SAR) of it is under process. According to highly placed sources, under the new scheme, the piped water from river Chenab will be brought to Jammu for catering to the needs of the people of the city and its suburban areas.

JAMMU: Keeping in view the welfare of general public, the State Government will soon bring the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Bills in the Assembly by amending the present Act to bring it at par with Central Act likely to be passed by Parliament in the ongoing session.

This was stated by Minister of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, while replying to annual grants of his Ministry in Legislative Assembly during second sitting this afternoon.
