BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) has sought the approval of the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) for reassessment of the design energy of its generating stations.

BALASORE: Industrialists of North Orissa have criticised the State Government for forcing the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) to enforce power cuts in the state citing shortage of power during summer.

The North Orissa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) has opposed the decision of supplying 25 per cent less power to the industries.

BHUBANESWAR: Even as the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) initiated process for formulation of a model power regulation, the Government today decided to stop hydro power generation with immediate effect.

The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) will invest about Rs 9,000 crore in the State for developing power evacuation facility.

In the first phase, the central PSU will construct 765 KV sub-stations at Jharsuguda and Angul with an estimated cost of Rs 6,000 crore for evacuation of power from the new power plants coming up there. The projects are expected to be operational
