BHUBANESWAR: The State continues to have a shortage of power due to breakdown in several generating units of NTPC at Farakka, Kahalgaon, Kaniha and Ib thermal power station at Banharipali in Jharsuguda district.

There was a shortage of more than 150 MW during the evening peak despite the hydro power stations providing 1,250 MW.
