While society and business continue to navigate an unsettled global risk environment, the future human rights situation is not all bleak. Social risks are no longer being drowned out by the historically larger E-focus on emissions and climate change. Instead, the Outlook highlights that these issues are converging in many ways.

The report highlights how climate risks are beginning to spill over. Analysis shows a world split into three groups of countries based on their resilience to threats triggered by climate change, such as civil unrest, political instability, food insecurity, mass migration, and worsening human rights.

Asian cities face the greatest risk from environmental issues including air pollution and natural disasters, according to a report by research firm Verisk Maplecroft. Of the 100 most vulnerable cities, 99 are in Asia, according to the report.
