The issue for consideration was steps for preventing untreated sewage going to the irrigation canal in Sector 137, Noida. Sources of such discharge included non-functional/deficient STPs in 95 high rise buildings in Noida, industries as well waste water from upstream from Delhi and Ghaziabad from into the said canal which joins Yamuna and then Ganga.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action for preventing untreated sewage going to the “irrigation canal” in Sector 137, NOIDA ((New Okhla Industrial Development Authority), Uttar Pradesh.

Inspection report on status of water quality on Noida drain as per National Green Tribunal order dated 30/07/2019 in Original Application No 1002/2018 in the matter of Abhisht Kusum Gupta Vs State of Uttar Pradesh uploaded on 24/02/2020. The Committee was directed to measure the faecal coliform content in the water samples which was a relevant factor for determining the water pollution.
