In response to media reports alleging a land scam in Bannerghatta, Government Land Protection Task Force Chairman V Balasubramaniam on Wednesday, inspected the Bannerghatta Zilla Panchayat vicinity.

The Forest Department on Monday submitted before the High Court that the proposed night safari at Bannerghatta will not be allowed beyond midnight.

According to the master plan approved by the Central Zoo Authority, the visiting hours for the proposed Night Safari is between 6 pm and 11 pm on weekdays depending on season and while in weekends it will be allowed up to 12 midnight.

The State government has submitted an action plan for the Bannerghatta night safari, before the High Court.

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday adjourned the matter related to the proposed night safari at Bannerghatta Biological Park to June 15.

A 10-year-old tiger mauled its mother to death at the Bannerghatta Biological Park on Sunday. The incident occurred inside a cage at the Tiger Safari Area around 2.30 pm, when the park, situated 22 km south of Bengaluru, was bustling with weekend visitors.
