Centre for Environment Education Bangalore and College of Fisheries Mangalore will organise a public consultation with the fisher folks and local community on Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) at College of Fisheries on February 13 from 10 am to 1 pm.

After receiving a dressing down from the High Court for inaction against CRZ violations in No Development Zone (NDZ), the Coastal Village Panchayats (CVPs) have finally started demolishing illegal structures that came to be built post February 19, 1991 CRZ notification.

Two coastal panchayats and the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) came under heavy fire from the High Court on Tuesday for non-compliance of Court orders pertaining to CRZ violations.

KOCHI: The Centre for Environment Education will organise a meeting to get feedback from the various sections of society on the recent report on Coastal Regulation Zone(CRZ) at Renewal Centre, Kaloor, on February 8.

Union Minister Jairam Ramesh and senior government officials will take part in the meeting which will be held from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
