COIMBATORE: Residents of some colonies along Nanjundapuram Road in the city have planned a fast and demonstration in the city on May 5 to oppose the sewage treatment plant that the Coimbatore Corporation is establishing on 6.2 acres it owns. The Corporation already has a sewage pumping station on this site.

Migration occurs in search of survival, fulfilment and a better life. Among the classified migrants, Census 2001 reported that rural out-migrants constituted the majority of 75.80 per cent. Majority of migration is from one rural area to another due to 'marriage' in the case of females and 'in search of work' in the case of males.

Coimbatore: The demand for bus services were on the rise in the State with the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation serving 30 per cent of the State population on an average everyday, Transport Minister, K.N. Nehru said on Monday.
