Draft Goa state forest policy 2009

The state government has finally declared the 'Goa state forest policy - 2009' even as the green cover has shrunk drastically and is further threatened by mining and development activities. The policy seeks to blend the basic principles of the national forest policy ( NFP 1988) with the state's needs.

Jairam stops eco-tourism project in Andhra

The Environment Ministry has stopped an ambitious project to construct a hotel, a multiplex and a convention centre in a reserve forest area of Hyderabad under the garb of promoting eco-tourism, citing serious violations of project conditions.

The Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Botanical Garden, Night Safari and Eco-Park and Bird Park is being planned at the Kothaguda Reserve Forests in Hyderab

Environment ministry withdraws clearance to Andhra tourism project

Tourism opportunities in Indira Sagar

The state government has decided to develop tourism in Indira Sagar Dam, the biggest man-made lake in the country. As per directive of the state government, preparations have been completed for development of the islets in the dam. The land of the Islets has been transferred to the tourism department and the development works would start soon.

Employment To Tribal Youths Through Eco-Tourism

Forest Minister Shri Sartaj Singh has said that employment can be generated for the tribal youths by promoting Eco-tourism in rural areas. The Forest Minister was launching an online reservation system for forest rest houses at a one-day workshop on Eco-tourism today.

The Forest Minister informed that the forest is a specialty on the land of Madhya Pradesh.
