The matter relates to dumping of garbage and encroachment of pond in Pratap Pur area of Rewari district, Haryana.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Energy Generation Through Waste/Garbage, 12/12/2019. A total capacity of 63.50 MW of projects for generation of power from municipal solid wastes/garbage have been set up in the country in recent past by private developers selected by competitive bidding by Local Urban Bodies in various States.

The polluting activities are also affecting the Khoh River. The trenching ground at Muktidham Society has been adversely affected by pollution.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rohit Chowdhury Vs Union of India & Others dated 19/08/2019. The issues discussed were shifting of the solid waste mangement plant near Deepor Beel and encroachment of the wetland, Guwahati, Assam.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Giriraj Parikrama Sanrakshan Sansthan & Others Vs Department of Environment & Forests & Others dated 19/08/2019 regarding cleaniness of Goverdhan Paravat and its Parikarma. The Court Commissioner, Anand V. Shukla visited the site on two festivals and reported that compliance of the order of the NGT was a total failure. Cleanliness of Parikarma Marg, Mansi Ganga, Daan Ghati and the temples at all these places was in dismal state as well as garbage cleaning and its removal from temples.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M/s. Hindon River Resorts Pvt. Ltd. & Others Vs Ghaziabad Development Authority & Others dated 14/08/2019 regarding three STPs at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad not working properly resulting in pollution of the area. The plants are being managed by Ghaziabad Development Authority, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. The sewage is over flowing due to obstruction and dumping of garbage by scrap dealers on the side lines of the open drains and due to encroachment by high rise complexes and shops.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajiv Verma Vs State of Himachal Pradesh dated 22/07/2019 regarding dumping of debris of road construction on the river beds. Photographs showing dumping by M/s R&B Construction at Tehsil Nichar, District Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh in River Satluj has been placed on record. According to Rajiv Verma, the applicant, the Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department (HPPWD) was not checking such illegal dumping.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Birender Sangwan Vs North Delhi Municipal Corporation & Others dated 19/07/2019 regarding unscientific dumping of garbage on the roads in absence of any effective mechanism by the Municipal Corporations of Delhi as per the provisions of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and constitutional obligation of the said Corporations under Article 243W read with Schedule XII to the Constitution.
