Prevention better

Jamshedpur, May 24: The malaria prevention programme in East Singhbhum has hit twin hurdles.

With the monsoon nearly here, the district has failed to start spraying DDT and has run short of malaria medicines. Officials in the district health department maintain that the prevention programme should have begun by now. The district happens to be malaria-prone zone.

Jamshedpur, May 11: The second bridge over river Kharkai has once again hit a roadblock.

The forest department has stalled construction work from the Adityapur end because of non-clearance of forestland that falls under the project area.

The administration today reviewed the ongoing water crisis at a meeting attended by district sub-divisional officer K.K. Prabhat and heads of civic bodies and corporate houses.
