Muttambalam (or Ward No. 18), a residential area in Kanjikuzhy, has been selected for the pilot project of the programme. The programme got under way on Thursday with the collection of waste materials from the District Collector's bungalow.

Town area included in the first phase of the campaign

Kottayam Municipality's initiative in collecting segregated household waste from the source will begin on Wednesday. According to V.K. Anil Kumar, chairman of the Municipal Standing Committee on Health, in the first phase, the town area of the Municipality has been included in the campaign.
