The Ministry of Mines has prepared the draft rules named “The Minerals (Other than Atomic and Hydro Carbons Energy Minerals) Concession Rules, 2015” for the provisions relating to grant and regulation of mineral concessions under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

These rules may be called "The Odisha Minerals (Prevention of Theft, Smuggling and Illegal Mining and Regulation of Possession, Storage, Trading and Transportation) Amendment Rules, 2015". They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Odisha Gazette.

On September 16, 2015, the Central Government launched the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY). The scheme has been noted by the Ministry of Mines as “a revolutionary and unprecedented scheme of its kind, which will transform the lives of people living in areas which are affected directly or indirectly by mining”.

These rules may be called the Mineral (Non-exclusive Reconnaissance Permits) Rules, 2015. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. In these rules, Act means the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957).

These rules may be called The Rajasthan Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2015. They shall extend to the whole of the State of Rajasthan including the areas in which Bapi and proprietary rights are claimed. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Rajasthan Gazette.

Rajasthan Mineral Policy 2015 released by the chief minister Vasundhara Raje raises the mineral exploitation area in the state to 1.5% from the existing 0.54%. Increasing the number of minerals under mining from 57 to 79 it calls upon the industry to adopt modern environmentally acceptable technology for exploring the mineral riches.

The central government released final rules for mineral auction, which for the first time gives states the freedom to earmark a certain percentage of mines for end use and auction them.

An Act further to amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957. This Act may be called the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015.
