LUCKNOW: Even as a rise in demand for power in the wake of the approaching summer stares Uttar Pradesh, the UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) have started looking for power not only from the power exchange, but also from other states as well.

The corporation has entered into an agreement with the Himachal Pradesh government for getting 600 MW of power for UP.

LUCKNOW: In a major decision to improve power scenario in the state, the state government has cleared two new power projects of around 2,450 mw and also approved refurbishment and upgradation of the ongoing Parichha Thermal Power Project consisting of two units of 210 mw each.

This was decided at a cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Mayawati here on Tuesday.
