The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is in no mood to sell the plots on the western side of the river. AMC is in the process of preparing urban and land use plans along with creating infrastructure facilities like laying down drainage, greening area before putting it on sale.

Ahmedabad: Unlike the past monsoons, Sabarmati riverfront this year looks more secure in the event of heavy rains this season. For the past two years, the reclaimed sandy bank used to get washed out in a heavy downpour resulting in damages running into crores of rupees.

Ahmedabad: The prized riverfront project of the city is coming up on the banks of the third most polluted river in the country

Ahmedabad: The slumdwellers, displaced due to the Sabarmati riverfront project, were allotted houses under economically weaker section (EWS) scheme in the city on Monday.
In the first draw, 2,371 houses were allocated under the rehabilitation scheme, out of which 271 slum-dwellers living on the eastern bank, on the stretch between Subhash bridge-Dudheshwar bridge, were given new EWS houses.
